Did Jeff Bridges deserve to win at the Academy Awards for his performance in Crazy Heart? Eh. Not really. Being a musician myself, music themed films are usually a massive cringefest for me. Crazy Heart was not as bad as I thought it would be, though I never really saw what was so great about Bad Blake the protagonist and I’m still trying to figure out what Colin Farrell was doing as a country western star. Casting, anybody?

Don’t get me wrong, I love Jeff Bridges. Then again, most of that love is directed towards “the Dude”. Crazy Heart just meanders along and doesn’t really go anywhere. You end up hobbling along with it and waiting for the inevitable.
